Background
The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) requires an Olympus FV4000 Confocal Microscope System to replace the outdated FV1000 system, which is no longer viable for current research needs.

This new system will support researchers at the University Drive campus, specifically in the Research Building, facilitating advanced scientific studies.

Work Details
The contract includes the delivery of an Olympus FV4000 Confocal Microscope System with the following components:
- FV40-HSU-P: Hybrid scanning unit and power supply unit with a 2-channel broadband spectral detector unit.
- FV30-STIMP: Adapter to connect scanner and IX83 scope frame.
- FV40-RSD: 2-channel red-shifted spectral detector unit by silicon photomultiplier, including secondary dichroic mirror turret.
- FV40-LETD: Transmitted detector unit for FV4000 used with IX3-LHLEDC.
- FV40-MCOMB: Main laser combiner.
- Laser diodes:
- FV31-LD405: 405NM, CW 50MW
- FV31-LD488: 488NM, CW 20MW
- FV31-LD561: 561NM, CW 20MW
- FV31-LD640: 640NM, CW 40MW
- Computer and software components including:
- F30PCA19S: HP Z4 G5 Tower workstation with Intel XeonW-2223 processor and Nvidia RTX A4000 graphics card.
- Advanced package software for FV4000 including various licenses.
- IX83 Inverted Motorized Microscope Frame and various optical components such as objectives and filters.

This system will also reuse parts from the previous Olympus confocal system to enhance functionality.

Period of Performance
Delivery and installation are expected within 8-12 weeks after contract award.

Place of Performance
The delivery location is the Research Office Building, 4071-4089 University Dr. C, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, specifically in Building 30 Wet Labs.
