Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the VISN 7 Network Contracting Activity, is issuing this solicitation for medical physicist services to ensure compliance and safety in imaging equipment used within the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS).

The goal of this contract is to provide thorough inspections and certifications of radiation-producing equipment, thereby supporting the agency's mission to deliver high-quality healthcare to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor will provide medical physicist services including:
1. Testing and certification of imaging equipment at multiple CAVHCS facilities.
2. Conducting performance and compliance evaluations of all radiation-producing equipment, shields, and protocols.
3. Providing copies of all survey results to relevant departments (Imaging, Dental, Quality Management, Bio-Medical Engineering) and notifying supervisors immediately of any discrepancies posing safety risks.
4. Delivering final written reports within seven working days post-completion of work.
5. Traveling to various geographically separated facilities using their own transportation and equipment at no additional cost.
6. Performing Shielding Integrity Evaluations and Room Scatter Surveys on initial/acceptance tests to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (JCAHO, ACR, FDA).
7. Conducting diagnostic radiology surveys including exit reviews with key personnel when available, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and providing detailed survey reports that include findings and recommendations.

Base Year: August 15, 2026 - August 14, 2027; Option 1: August 15, 2027 - August 14, 2028; Option 2: August 15, 2028 - August 14, 2029; Option 3: August 15, 2029 - August 14, 2030; Option 4: August 15, 2030 - August 14, 2031.

Place of Performance
Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) facilities.
