Background
The Stereo Cameras for Lunar Plume-Surface Studies (SCALPSS) 2.0 project aims to enhance measurement data using lasers. This contract is a sole source requirement for Matchbox lasers from RPMC, Inc., intended for inclusion in SCALPSS flight payloads being assembled under the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program, specifically for CS-6 and CS-8 contracts awarded to various lunar lander companies.

The assembly of these flight payloads is scheduled to commence in Q4 CY2026.

Work Details
The scope of work involves the SAT purchase of thirty-six (36) high power diode lasers from RPMC, Inc., manufactured by Integrated Optics. The specifications for the lasers are as follows:
- High power laser diode module, 638 nm
- Minimum of 250 mW measured optical output power
- 50 micron core fiber diameter
- Modulatable via programmable TTL input pulse, up to 10 kHz
- Output SMA fiber type connector port.

Additionally, the deliverables include:
- 36X 0638L-36A-NI-NT-NF Matchbox Series High Power Laser Diode Module
- 2X AM-C11 USB DC Breakout Box for Single Wavelength Matchbox Laser.

Period of Performance
The hardware shall be delivered to NASA Langley at the earliest opportunity, no later than October 2026.
