Masonry Restoration and Cornice Repointing   2

Background
The General Services Administration (GSA) is issuing this solicitation for a masonry restoration project at the Melvin Price Federal Building located in East St. Louis, Illinois. The project aims to restore granite, limestone, and brick masonry to preserve the structural integrity and aesthetic value of the building, which is significant for its historical importance.

The goal of the contract is to ensure that all restoration work meets high standards of quality and compliance with local laws.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- restoration of granite, limestone, and brick masonry;
- repointing of mortar;
- removal and replacement of deteriorated sealants;
- repair of spalled granite;
- rebuilding misaligned limestone parapets;
- repairing broken caps at the northwest corner of the parapet;
- cementitious patch repairs in limestone;
- re-securing limestone jambs at area wells;
- cleaning of bird fouling; and other related masonry restoration tasks as indicated in the provided drawings.

The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools, utilities, transportation, and services required for the execution of this work.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall commence performance within 1 day after receiving the On-site Notice to Proceed (NTP). Substantial completion must be achieved no later than 173 calendar days from NTP issuance. Contract completion is required within 60 calendar days following substantial completion.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Melvin Price Federal Building located at 750 Missouri Ave., East St. Louis, St. Clair County, Illinois.
