Market Survey/Request for Information: Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) Data Protection Audit Services

Background
This is a Market Survey/Request for Information (RFI) for Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) Data Protection Audit Services. The purpose of this Market Survey/Request for Information is to survey the marketplace to assess the level of interest and identify potential vendors and capabilities among qualified providers of the required services identified in the draft Statement of Work for LAANC Audit Services and to receive feedback on the questions listed in Section 4 of the Market Survey/RFI announcement. Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) operators are required under law to receive prior authorization before conducting flights in controlled airspace near airports. The FAA’s small UAS program office (AJM-337) works with UAS Service Suppliers (USSs) through LAANC to allow UAS operators to request authorization to fly in such airspace in near real time.

Work Details
The Contractor would perform an audit that would examine compliance with MOA Articles 20 and 22, which includes the Data Protection Plan, which is contained as Attachment E to the LAANC USS Performance Rules. There are currently 16 authorized USSs, providing services under a signed MOA. Additional USSs may be added during the tenure of this contract. The FAA anticipates that up to 20 individual USS audits will be required on an annual basis. The USSs are located in various locations, but it is not expected that the Contractor would be required to travel, absent special circumstances.
