MarEcon System Upgrade BRAND NAME ONLY

Background
The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) Physical Measurements Laboratory's Dimensional Metrology Group (DMG) is seeking to upgrade their MarEcon controller for the 828CiM PPC machines. The DMG provides high-accuracy length-based measurement services and leads standards efforts that advance scientific research and industrial manufacturing. The current system is non-functional due to a failed integral computer, and there are no suitable alternatives available for sphere calibration.

Work Details
The contractor shall deliver one (1) MarEcon controller upgrade for 828CiM PPC machines, which includes:
- Machine controller
- Cables and adapters
- Computer system running Windows 11 (including keyboard and mouse)
- 24” monitor
- 828 WIN software upgrade compatible with Windows 11
- Installation services
- A one-year warranty.

Specifications include:
- Compatibility with existing Mahr 828CiM ULM hardware (SN 1191/08)
- Ability to make external diameter/length measurements with adjustable measurement forces (1N, 2N, and 3N)
- New hardware must be provided, including necessary cables and adapters.
- Software installation media must be included.

Bidder Requirements
The contractor must provide a firm fixed price quotation for new items only; used or remanufactured equipment will not be considered. All items must be shipped in original manufacturer’s packaging with all original documentation and software included. The use of unauthorized 'gray market' components is not acceptable.
