March 2026 Fresh Produce

Background
The Federal Bureau of Prisons is issuing this solicitation for the procurement of fresh produce to support its operations. The goal of the contract is to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality fresh fruits and vegetables for the Bureau's facilities, specifically targeting the second quarter of fiscal year 2026. This initiative aligns with the agency's mission to provide essential services and maintain health standards for inmates.

Work Details
The contractor will be required to deliver various types of fresh produce on a weekly basis during the specified period. The following items are included in the scope:

1. Fresh Fruit, Bananas: Minimum 1 1/8" diameter, Minimum 5.5" long, with a preferred case count of 120.
2. Fresh Vegetable, Carrots: Ready to use, unpeeled, whole carrots (1” – 2 ½” in diameter not less than 5” in length), with a preferred case weight of 50 lbs.
3. Fresh Vegetable, Celery: U.S. Extra No. 1 or U.S. No. 1 stalks, with a preferred case weight of 55 lbs.
4. Fresh Vegetable, Cilantro: Medium green color, with a preferred case count of 60.
5. Coleslaw Mix: Preferred case weight of 20 lbs.
6. Lettuce, Shredded: Preferred case weight of 20 lbs.
7. Fresh Vegetable, Salad Mix: U.S. Fancy or U.S. No. 1 leafy greens, packaged for enhanced shelf life with a preferred case weight of 20 lbs.
8. Fresh Vegetable, Onions: U.S. No. 2 or better grade onions with a preferred case weight of 50 lbs.
9. Fresh Vegetable, Peppers: Sweet peppers meeting specific size and quality standards with a preferred case weight of 25 lbs.
10. Fresh Vegetable, Sweet Potatoes: U.S. Extra No. 1 or better grade sweet potatoes with specific size requirements and a preferred case weight of 40 lbs.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from March 9, 2026 to March 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
Deliveries will be made to the Federal Bureau of Prisons facility located at FCC Beaumont, Texas.
