Description

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) is requesting information on existing research or new concepts related to the development of technical solutions that bolster the domestic manufacturing workforce.
Background
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) is seeking information on existing research or new concepts aimed at enhancing the domestic manufacturing workforce. The goal of this initiative is to develop technical solutions that ensure a resilient and high-performing manufacturing workforce for the future.

Work Details
Respondents to this RFI should provide succinct and actionable insights structured around the first four Heilmeier questions:

1. What are you trying to do? Clearly articulate your objectives without jargon.

2. How is it done today, and what are the limits of current practice?

3. What is new in your approach and why do you think it will be successful?

4. Who cares? If successful, what impact will it have?

The response should include a cover sheet with response title, technical point of contact details, and RFI topics addressed; a technical description of up to three pages answering the Heilmeier questions with quantitative data/charts/graphics; a bibliography/references page; a description of relevant prior research or experimental capabilities; and an optional graphic overview slide.

Period of Performance
Responses will be accepted from the publication of this RFI until October 17, 2025.

Place of Performance
Responses can be submitted from any location as long as they adhere to submission guidelines.
