DARPA seeks innovative proposals for the development of a new class of long duration autonomous undersea vehicles capable of transporting and deploying large payloads over long distances without the need for maintenance or refueling. The Manta Ray program will leverage or develop novel propulsion, sensing, and energy management systems to achieve high reliability and extended endurance across a wide variety of maritime environments. Key aspects of the Manta Ray program are classified. Only proposals addressing the classified aspects of Manta Ray will be eligible for funding under this BAA. DARPA seeks proposals that present a credible path to a rapid demonstration of program objectives.
