Manistique Maintenance Dredging   2

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) as a 100% small business set-aside for a routine dredging project aimed at addressing shoaling in the Manistique River and Harbor.

The primary goal of this contract is to remove sediment and enhance the navigability of the waterway while also contributing to beach nourishment efforts along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for hydraulically dredging up to 92,500 cubic yards (CY) of material from Station 0+00 to Station 46+00, achieving a maintained project depth of 12 feet, with an additional 1 foot of allowable overdredge tolerance.

The dredged material must be placed nearshore, specifically 7,000 feet southwest from the west breakwater along the Lake Michigan shoreline, situated between the Ordinary High Water Mark (OHWM) and the 10-foot depth contour.

Furthermore, the placement of material must occur from the deepest allowable depth currently approved and shoreward without allowing it to accumulate within 1 foot below current water levels to mitigate concerns regarding blowing sand as discussed with the City of Manistique and MDOT.

The construction projects will be performed in Manistique River and Harbor, located along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
