Malheur NF FY25 Range Fence Construction   3

Background
The Malheur National Forest (NF) is issuing a solicitation for the FY25 Range Fence Construction project. The goal of this contract is to construct and/or reconstruct livestock range fences within the Malheur National Forest and Blue Mountain Ranger District in Grant County, Oregon. This project aims to support the management of livestock grazing and enhance the ecological integrity of the forested areas.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Construction of 3 or 4 strand barbed wire fence
- Removal and disposal of damaged or unusable fence
- Clearing of fence-line Right of Way (ROW)
- Providing new fencing materials.

Fences must be built to Forest Service specifications, with the contractor responsible for transporting all necessary materials to the project site and disposing of all leftover debris according to local, state, and federal requirements. The existing fence and associated materials shall be removed where needed, including complete removal and off-site disposal of metal wire, staples, and metal T-posts. Untreated wood posts or trees used as part of existing fences may be left on-site to degrade naturally. The contractor must also prepare for accessibility challenges due to weather conditions affecting road access.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from October 15, 2025, to June 1, 2027.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will take place in the Blue Mountain Ranger District on the Malheur National Forest in Grant County, Oregon.
