The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) seeks to acquire an annual maintenance agreement on scientific laboratory equipment and components. Please see the attached equipment list, that provides all equipment information and serial numbers. Service requirements are the routine service provided by OEM or qualified provider. Maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance as needed. OEM technical support as available. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) conducts and supports basic and applied research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases. To facilitate its efforts, the NIAID has created the Integrated Research Facility (IRF) as a part of the National Interagency Biodefense Campus located at Ft. Detrick, MD. The NIAID IRF is a specialized biocontainment facility with the appropriate infrastructure to support basic research and animal studies with various infectious disease agents including those requiring the highest level of biocontainment, (BSL4), to evaluate therapeutics, vaccines and diagnostics as well as natural history and pathogenesis associated with these agents. Within the IRF, the AIDS Imaging Research Section (AIRS) is a program of the IRF-Frederick in the Division of Clinical Research (DCR) of NIAID, which leverages preclinical and translational molecular imaging to study the pathogenesis of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection using the simian/simianhuman immunodeficiency virus (SIV/SHIV) nonhuman primate model. The AIRS is based in a BSL-2/3 facility of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Animal Center (Poolesville, Maryland). The AIRS is seeking to procure a service agreement. The purpose of this service contract is to obtain highly skilled scientific, operational, and programmatic support services necessary to keep these extremely valuable pieces of equipment functioning at their highest levels. *Special note: This equipment goes through a rigorous decontamination process every time for PM and repair. The decontamination may shorten the life of the parts resulting in the possibility of replacement parts and repairs needed more often than the standard life expectancy. The award will be based on the lowest price technically acceptable.
