Machine Safety and Preventative Maintenance Service

Background
The Army Surveillance Detachment (ASD) acquired new personnel, capability, and equipment at the beginning of FY23, but did not budget money to maintain or modernize the equipment.

ASD needs to design, prototype, and fabricate quick reaction specialized devices used by Army Counterintelligence Command and other partners in support of counterintelligence operations and investigations. These devices range from special concealment requirements, electronic interfaces, custom cases and enclosures, and non-traditional applications of existing devices. ASD personnel design the required parts or modify existing, commercially available products to meet requirements.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform maintenance, inspections, and/or calibrations on 9 machines. The preventative maintenance and inspection will be completed by trained and certified technicians.

The contractor shall assess for safety, repairs, and maintenance, as well as test and calibrate the machines. Specific tasks include:
1) Preventative Maintenance/Performance Assurance (PM/PA) including calibration analysis to verify machines are operating within OEM tolerances;
2) Service for Mills and Lathes including Vibration Analysis, Drawbar Force Test, Geometry Inspection, Renishaw Ball Bar Test for Haas Machines;
3) Inspection of Way Lube System, Pneumatic System, Coolant System, Mechanical System, Electrical System;
4) Service for Band Saw includes safety checks and hydraulic/pneumatic systems check;
5) Service for Grinder includes inspection of electrical system;
6) Assessment of inoperable equipment including troubleshooting or repairs for DoAll Band Saw and HLV-H Toolroom Lathe before commencing PM/PA work;
7) Under no circumstance shall a contractor perform services that will void any warranties.

Base Period: 1 August – 30 September 2024.
