MACA - REPLACEMENT OF VC EXHIBIT CARPET
Background
The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing this contract for the cyclic replacement of deteriorating carpet within the Visitor Center Exhibit Area at Mammoth Cave National Park. The goal of this contract is to ensure a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for visitors by replacing old and worn carpeting, which is essential for maintaining the park's facilities and enhancing visitor experience.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, supervision, and equipment necessary to perform the following tasks:

1. Removal and disposal of approximately 2,300 square feet (SF) of existing carpet, 290 linear feet (LF) of cove base, 63 LF of transitions, and 22 LF of stair nosing.

2. Subfloor preparation including adhesive removal, patching per ASTM C109, and moisture testing per ASTM F2170/F1869.

3. Installation of 2'×2' CRI Green Label Plus carpet tiles with adhesives and proper rolling using a 75-100 lb roller.

4. Installation of new cove base, transitions, and stair nosing.

5. Final cleaning and complete reinstallation of all exhibits in their original configuration.
