Edis Lincrusta Walton Wall Covering

Background
The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing this request for quotation for the conservation of Lincrusta Walton wall covering in the Reception Hall of Edison’s Home, Glenmont. This project is part of the efforts to preserve historical sites and artifacts, ensuring that they remain intact for future generations.

The goal of this contract is to restore and conserve the wall covering, which dates back to 1880, thereby maintaining the historical integrity of the site.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Remove existing Lincrusta Walton wall covering carefully without damaging underlying surfaces.
2. Clean and prepare the wall surfaces for new application.
3. Install new Lincrusta Walton wall covering as per historical specifications and standards.
4. Ensure that all work complies with preservation guidelines set forth by the NPS.
5. Conduct a final inspection with NPS representatives to ensure satisfaction with the completed work.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from September 30, 2024, to July 23, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be conducted at Thomas Edison National Historical Park located in West Orange, New Jersey.
