STATEMENT OF WORK

  1. Introduction/Background: This 3D Stereo Microscope is being procured to aid in the fabrication of microscopic eddy current transducers, probes, and assemblies on data acquisition hardware. This particular piece of hardware has the ability to provide stereoscopic representation of surfaces whose normal vectors are not parallel to the incident angle provided by the optics. After a brief demonstration, it was clear that the capabilities of this feature were not available through other vendors.

2.0 Scope of Work: The procurement of one 3D stereo microscope with a single viewing optic and the capability of providing

3.0 Objectives: This microscope will enable the fabrication, design modifications, assemblage, testing of microscopic eddy current probes.

4.0 Description of the Work/Contractor Tasks: The microscope shall provide depth perception of specimen surfaces from one viewing optic which may be seen with both eyes at the same time. The specimen surfaces in view should be able to be expanded and contracted by moving the viewer's head relative to the viewing optic. The microscope shall provide modular upgrades to enable magnification from 6X-240X. The microscope shall use LED for all illumination of the specimen. The microscope shall provide coarse and fine adjustment, and have some method of indexing. The microscope shall come provided with a stable base which contains the ability to move the optics towards and away from the specimen area in a coarse and finely controlled fashion. The microscope shall come provided with a floating XY stage that allows a specimen to be moved in a controlled and repeatable fashion.

    1. Deliverables: 3D Stereo Microscope, Low Profile Base, Floating Stage, Objective Lens, Light Source Power Unit and Diffuser (EVH001, EVP070, EVR050, EVL062, EVS040, EVB010, EVS120
