Lumicks C-Trap Service Agreement

Background
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), Office of Acquisitions (OA), intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive sole source basis to Lumicks USA to provide a Lumicks C-Trap Service Agreement to the NHLBI Division of Intramural Research. The laboratory of Single Molecule Biophysics requires a service contract for the recently purchased Lumicks C-Trap optical trapping and single-molecule fluorescence instrument. The C-Trap is a complex and delicate instrument that requires regular preventative maintenance and service.

The instrument also contains many complex and expensive components that could fail. To maintain the instrument performance and to ensure rapid repair of any subcomponents of the Lumicks C-Trap, the lab requires a service contract.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide the following C-Trap Dymo 400-All in Service Agreement that meets the specified requirements:
- One preventative maintenance inspection including all labor and travel associated with conducting the inspection
- Guaranteed performance meeting specifications
- All labor- and travel-related charges associated with any service repair visit in addition to the above preventative maintenance visit
- All replacement parts covered
- Software version upgrades when available
- Scheduled and emergency service performed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time), Monday through Friday, excluding Contractor holidays
- Factory-trained customer support engineers
- 48-hour engineer response time
- Coverage of 3rd party accessories.

Period of Performance
The period of performance will be one year from award with the option of 3 option years.
