LRD Industry Day 2024

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division (LRD) is hosting an Industry Day to engage with small and large businesses, providing them with insights into the agency's mission and upcoming opportunities for FY25.

This event aims to foster networking among various districts within LRD, which include Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit, Huntington, Louisville, Nashville, and Pittsburgh.

Work Details
The Industry Day will feature presentations and breakout sessions covering several key topics:
- Administrative Announcements
- Opening Remarks by the LRD Commander outlining the day's objectives.
- Overview of LRD's Civil Works mission and Military program including Environmental Mission and Emergency Response initiatives.
- Networking opportunities by function with government representatives from various sectors such as Architect/Engineer, Vertical Construction, Horizontal Construction, Dredging, Environmental services, Construction Management Services, and General services.
- Breakout sessions focusing on Acquisition 101 for newcomers to federal contracting, discussions on hot topics in acquisition, improvements in forecasting information shared with industry partners, innovative research and development implementation strategies including 3D printing and Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP), transparency in market research practices, and addressing barriers to competition in federal contracting.
