LRD Industry Day 2024

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division (LRD) is hosting an Industry Day on December 4, 2024, to provide small and large businesses with insights into their mission and opportunities for fiscal year 2025.

The event aims to facilitate networking between businesses and various districts within the LRD, which includes Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit, Huntington, Louisville, Nashville, and Pittsburgh.

Work Details
The Industry Day will feature a series of presentations and breakout sessions focused on the following topics:
- Administrative Announcements
- Opening Remarks by the LRD Commander outlining the day's objectives.
- Overview of LRD's Civil Works mission and Military program.
- Emergency Response capabilities of LRD during natural disasters.
- Networking opportunities with government representatives across various functions including Architect/Engineer, Vertical Construction, Horizontal Construction, Dredging, Environmental services, Construction Management Services, and General services.
- Breakout sessions covering Acquisition 101 for newcomers to federal contracting, hot topics in acquisition strategies, improvements in forecasting information shared with industry partners, innovative research and development methods such as 3D printing for spare parts, transparency in market research practices, and discussions on barriers to competition in federal contracting.
