Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to establish a new interim firm-fixed-price sole source contract for Teleradiology Physician Services. This action is necessary to ensure continued support for patient care at the Lexington, Robley Rex, Memphis, James H. Quillen, and TVHS VA Medical Centers (VAMC). The current contractor, VetMed Group, LLC, has personnel who are already credentialed and actively providing services.

The goal of this contract is to maintain seamless service delivery without disruption as the current contract expires.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide Board Certified Teleradiology Physician Services to eligible beneficiaries of the VAMCs. These services are essential for supporting patient care. VetMed Group has established a network connection with the VAMCs that took 9 months to set up, which is critical for transmitting patient radiology tests efficiently.

The justification for this sole source contract is based on the unique qualifications of VetMed Group, which employs teleradiology physicians who are already credentialed by the VAMCs and have completed necessary background checks. Transitioning to another contractor would result in significant delays due to the lengthy onboarding process required for new physicians.

Period of Performance
The proposed period of performance for this contract is from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Lexington, Robley Rex, Memphis, James H. Quillen, and TVHS VA Medical Centers.
