LM2500 Blade and Vain Repair   3

NSWCPD Code 424 has begun to utilize General Electric (GE) certified repair activities outside of repair depots in an effort to reduce the scrap rate and costs of U.S. Navy LM2500 power turbine assembly (PTA) blades and vanes by establishing a rotatable pool of ready-for-issue (RFI) power turbine blades and vanes so overhaul depots can reduce the repair turnaround time (RTAT) and US Navy can maintain its fleet sparing requirements.

All vendors will be required to submit documentation verifying they have an active LM2500 power turbine airfoil repair capability including its ability to apply platinum aluminide coatings after the physical component refurbishment has been completed. This can be validated in the form of contracts, shop travelers or other technical documents which demonstrate ongoing repairs. Vendors which do not submit procedures and proof of existing LM2500 power turbine airfoil repair capability will not be considered by the Navy.
