SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions.

  1. All Stages: Super High precision (<5nm) nano positioning that can move a 900g-1000g max (~10N) load

10N Hold capacity min.

10N thrust capacity min.

15-20N load capacity.

  1. QTY 4 - Linear Stage, piezo-walking drive type.
    • 20-30 mm travel range Super High precision (<5nm) nano positioning
    • Incremental linear encoder, 0.5 nm sensor resolution
    • Must fit withing a 150mm circle
  2. QTY 2 - Linear stage, piezo-walking drive type.
    • 50-75 mm travel range Super High precision (<5nm) nano positioning
    • Incremental linear encoder, 0.5 nm sensor resolution
  3. Six Channel Rack Mountable Controller system with TCP/IP interfaces for the stages
  4. Controller must be EPICS compatible.

Quote is for product only; no on-site services permitted.

Source selection will be based on Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable and best Lead-Time.

All subcontractors are required to register in the System for Award Management (www.sam.gov).

The resulting purchase order will be issued on a fixed price basis. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory Terms and Conditions for Fixed Price Commercial Supplies and Services (Rev. August 2023) will be made a part of the resulting.

Background
The SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy, is seeking to procure specific high-precision linear stages and a controller system. This procurement is governed by certain Federal laws and regulations but is not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations. The goal of this contract is to acquire equipment that meets stringent technical specifications for precision nano positioning.

Work Details
The contractor will provide the following items:

1. All Stages: Super High precision (<5nm) nano positioning capable of moving a 900g-1000g max (~10N) load with a minimum hold capacity of 10N, thrust capacity of 10N, and load capacity of 15-20N.

2. Quantity 4 - Linear Stage, piezo-walking drive type with:
- 20-30 mm travel range
- Super High precision (<5nm) nano positioning
- Incremental linear encoder with 0.5 nm sensor resolution
- Must fit within a 150mm circle.

3. Quantity 2 - Linear stage, piezo-walking drive type with:
- 50-75 mm travel range
- Super High precision (<5nm) nano positioning
- Incremental linear encoder with 0.5 nm sensor resolution.

4. Six Channel Rack Mountable Controller system with TCP/IP interfaces for the stages.
