Background
The Library of Congress, through its American Folklife Center (AFC), is seeking an experienced exhibit design firm to create the exhibition 'Culture Homegrown: Reflections from the American Folklife Center' in celebration of AFC's 50th anniversary.

This exhibition aims to showcase a diverse array of items from the Center’s archives and programs that reflect various communities’ cultural traditions, stories, and experiences.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

(a) Design case layouts for the Culture Homegrown Exhibition, which will feature approximately 100 objects within a 3,700 square foot gallery. This includes planning and consultation, concept design, design development, final exhibition design utilizing existing casework, additional wall or special element design bid packages, and fabrication cost estimates as needed. The design process is iterative.

(b) Recommend an interactive/audiovisual strategy that includes additional audiovisual elements for the exhibition, which will be developed under a separate contract.

(c) Design all related graphics for the Culture Homegrown Exhibition as well as for its promotion and programming. All design work must meet museum quality standards and conservation requirements set by the Library of Congress. The contractor must also accommodate changes requested by the Library's representative within specified timeframes and attend meetings to review designs with Library staff.

Period of Performance
The contract period begins on March 20, 2025, and ends on September 30, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Library of Congress located at 101 Independence Avenue SE, Washington DC.
