Level-I Confinement Facility at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas Bid Abstract   2

This solicitation is utilizing the Two-Step Sealed Bidding procurement method as described in FAR Part 14.5 toaward a firm fixed-price contract for the project titled ?Construction of a Level-I Confinement Facility? at SheppardAFB, TX. The general scope of the design-bid-build project requires the contractor to construct a Level 1confinement facility with 6-bed configuration with 4 cells + 2 segregation cells totaling 6 cells. Construction of anadditional 2 cells, for a total of 8 cells overall will be an option to the contract. Facility will consist of masonrycavity wall construction with metal roof and a foundation consisting of grade beams and drilled piers supporting aone-way structural slab. Spaces include administrative area, visitation/training room, waiting area, a day room, andoutdoor recreation area. Site improvements at approximately 50,000 square feet total include security fencing, arealighting, parking, and sidewalks. Project includes all utilities, detection/protection features, security enhancements,and other supporting work necessary to make a complete and useable facility. Facilities will be permanentconstruction in accordance with the Department of Defense Unified Facilities Criteria 1-200-01 and sustainableprinciples will be integrated into construction of the project in accordance with Unified Facility Criteria 1-200-02.This project will comply with Department of Defense antiterrorism/force protection requirements per UnifiedFacility Criteria 4-010-01.
