Leidos L3, QS-B220 Desktop Trace Detector

This is a notice that the 109th AW, Stratton Air National Guard Base intends to award a single source purchase order using Simplified Acquisitions Procedures to Leidos Security Detection & Automation, Inc. for a QS-B220 Desktop Trace Detector to include installation, training and accessories. IAW AFSFC/CC Policy Letter signed 1/14/19, "any Air Force Security Forces (SF) Units must consult Explosive Detection Equipment (EDE) Program prior to purchase any hand-held or desktop explosive detection, bulk material identification, or personnel/vehicle screening systems." "They will use their technical expertise and extensive single/comparative test database to recommend the EDE that best matches the customer's requirements". For this particular acquisition, the 109th SFS contacted Dr. Michael Shepard, Senior Technologist at the Explosive Detection Program for guidance. Dr. Shepard recommended the Leidos (L3) QS-B220 as the number one recommendation among two available models. The 109th intends to move forward with this recommendation. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.
