Description

Work consist of painting and repair of the 15 Tainter Gates and Bridge Spans at Lock and Dam No. 24 on the Mississippi River. Government furnished components for replacing existing chains for the Tainter gates w ill be installed. Repair of Tainter gates includes installation of chain guides on gates, repair of cracks in skin plate, removal and replacement of damaged end shields, replacement of damaged bottom strut on Gate 3, repair of damage to skin plate from existing chains, interior member replacement, rivet replacement, and painting of the gates. Bridge Repairs consists bearing shoe bolt replacement, gusset plate removal and replacement, replacement of crane rail clips and w alkw ay grating, and painting of service Bridge. All w ork w ill be performed via floating plant w ith Bulkheads installed by the Government.
