Description

The University, on behalf of the ALS-U project, intends to procure a maximum of five built-to-specification Monochromators, one for each branch line of the new and upgraded Insertion Device Beam Line (IDBL): COSMIC 7.0.1, MAESTRO 7.0.2, Tender 8.0.1.2,.FLEXON 10.0.1.1, and FLEXON 10.0.1.2. . There will be a single award for the COSMIC 7.0.1 and MAESTRO 7.0.2 Monochromators for the design, fabrication and delivery. Design for the Tender 8.0.1.2,.FLEXON 10.0.1.1, and FLEXON 10.0.1.2 will be included in the base order, if proposed, with fabrication for the same Monochromator to be optional, exercised at a later time.

Background
The University of California, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) is seeking proposals for the design, manufacture, analysis, testing, and delivery of five built-to-specification Monochromators. This acquisition is in support of the LBNL Advanced Light Source Upgrade (ALS-U) Project. The solicitation is governed by procurement policies and procedures established under the University’s Prime Contract No. DE-AC02-05CH11231 with the U.S. Government, represented by the Department of Energy (DOE), for management and operation of LBNL.

Work Details
The University intends to procure a maximum of five built-to-specification Monochromators, one for each branch line of the new and upgraded Insertion Device Beam Line (IDBL): COSMIC 7.0.1, MAESTRO 7.0.2, Tender 8.0.1.2, FLEXON 10.0.1.1, and FLEXON 10.0.1.2.
There will be a single award for the COSMIC 7.0.1 and MAESTRO 7.0.2 Monochromators for the design, fabrication, and delivery.

Period of Performance
It is expected that the base portion of the Subcontract will be performed over a period of 76 weeks inclusive of any alternates.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, CA.
