Langley Air Force Base Elevator Modernization

Background
The project aims to modernize the elevator in Building 15 at Joint Base Langley-Fort Eustis, ensuring compliance with current safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency standards. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and supervision to complete the modernization while adhering to ADA, ANSI, fire safety, and other applicable codes.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:

1. Machine Room: Removal of existing elevator controller and associated components; installation of a new submersible pump unit and a non-proprietary microprocessor elevator controller; modification of existing conduits and installation of new wiring; ensuring compliance with ADA and fire safety codes; preparing for final system testing.

2. Hoistway: Installation of new limit switches, pit stop switch, travel cable, door mechanisms including locks and rollers; installation of a new piston seal.

3. Hallways: Installation of ADA-compliant hall call stations with tactile features; installation of required signage and access controls.

4. Elevator Car: Modernization of the car operating system with emergency features; installation of safety enhancements including a new inspection station and updated wiring.

5. General: Conducting final inspections and testing to ensure operational compliance; site cleanup; labeling equipment according to code requirements.
