Landscaping Services

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking landscaping and tree removal services for the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center located in Columbia, South Carolina. This facility is a 216-bed hospital providing various levels of care, including acute medical, surgical, psychiatric, and long-term care.

The contract aims to address hazardous trees identified on the premises that pose risks to infrastructure and safety.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment for a one-time service that includes:
1. Removal of two (2) large trees and stump grinding.
2. Pruning of six (6) trees.
3. All debris must be removed and disposed of properly.
4. Specific tasks include:
- Removal of a large sweetgum tree near Building 22 in Patriots Park, requiring area closure for pedestrian safety.
- Removal of a large willow oak tree near Building 5, also requiring area closure for safety.
- Pruning of one marked willow oak tree near Building 5 and five marked oak trees along with one sweetgum tree in Patriots Park, including the removal of dead branches two inches in diameter or larger and ensuring clearance from roofs.
5. The contractor is responsible for repairing any damaged utilities during work execution.
6. All work must comply with OSHA standards and other relevant regulations.

Period of Performance
Services shall commence three business days after contract award and are to be completed within 45 days.
