Lactation Pod for Red Lake Hospital

Background
The Indian Health Service (IHS) is issuing this solicitation to procure a Lactation Pod for the Red Lake Hospital, which serves over 17,000 individuals in northern Minnesota. The facility aims to provide safe and supportive environments for patients and staff, particularly breastfeeding mothers, by ensuring compliance with federal workplace accommodation standards.

The goal of this contract is to install a dedicated private lactation space that is secure, hygienic, ADA-compliant, and separate from restroom facilities.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide one fully functional Lactation Pod, specifically a Mamava Flex Mobile Lactation Suite or an equal alternative. The pod must be modular (on casters), freestanding, designed for single-user occupancy, and ready for immediate use upon installation. Key specifications include:
- Approximate Dimensions: ~7’ W x 4’ D x 8’ H
- Durable commercial-grade materials with nonporous, cleanable surfaces suitable for healthcare environments.
- Lockable door for privacy and an occupancy indicator system.
- ADA accessible configuration with a footprint of approximately 24 sq ft.
- Interior features including comfortable seating, fold-down or fixed shelf/table, minimum two electrical outlets, interior lighting, coat or bag hooks, ventilation system, USB charging capability, and a mirror.

Electrical requirements include a standard 120V connection with internal lighting and ventilation powered through the facility outlet. The contractor must ensure compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act lactation provisions and Joint Commission patient-centered care standards.

Period of Performance
Delivery and installation of the Lactation Pod must be completed within 90 days of contract award.

The Lactation Pod will be delivered and installed at the Red Lake Hospital located at 24760 Hospital Drive, Red Lake, MN 56671.
