Description

The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) seeks commercial food service equipment to replace equipment at Gordon Elementary School's existing kitchen. The equipment requirements will include, but is not limited to, general-purpose food preparation, serving, and storage equipment.

Background
The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) serves the educational needs of children of military service members and Department of Defense civilian employees by providing pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade educational requirements in three Regions: Americas, Pacific, and Europe.

The Americas schools are located within the continental United States as well as Puerto Rico and Cuba, currently comprising 54 schools that provide daily nutritional meals for Pre-K through 12th grade. The Pacific schools are located throughout Japan, Okinawa, South Korea, and Guam; and European schools are located throughout Germany, England, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Bahrain.

There are 159 DoDEA schools serving over 65,000 students. The DoDEA Americas Mid Atlantic District has a requirement for commercial food service equipment to replace existing kitchen equipment at Gordon Elementary School.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, tools, quality control, supervision, shipping and transportation for the installation and overall set-up of commercial food service equipment.

The specific requirements include:
1. General-purpose food preparation equipment
2. Serving equipment
3. Storage equipment
4. All materials must be new and manufactured from current production components.
5. Equipment must meet Green Guard Certification Standards for Low Emitting Products for the Indoor Environment.
6. All food equipment must be certified for sanitation by a program accredited by ANSI such as NSF.
7. Warranty: Equipment must have a life cycle of 7 to 10 years or longer as stipulated in the warranty.
