Keyence VXH-X1 Microscope System

Background
The Air Force Sustainment Center (AF SC/PZIMB) at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, is issuing this solicitation for the acquisition of a Keyence VXH-X1 Digital Microscope System. The goal of this contract is to provide a comprehensive solution that includes delivery, installation, training, and performance verification of the microscope system to enhance operational capabilities at the base.

Work Details
The contract requires the purchase of one (1) Keyence VXH-X1 Microscope, which must include:
- Delivery, Installation, Training, and Performance Verification at Tinker Air Force Base.
- The microscope must be compatible with existing Keyence software and hardware.
- It should feature a motorized 300mm x 300mm stage control with automation.
- Lens specifications include compatibility with low magnification (0.1-50x), long working distance (~3 inches), and magnifications between 50-2500x.
- A metallographic revolving turret with lenses ranging from 100-1000x is required to eliminate single point failures.
- The system must include polarizers and diffusers for lens systems.
- Multiple camera ports are necessary to minimize damage from lens changes; a minimum of three cameras must be included.
- The microscope should allow for free angle observation and easy tilt ability with 3D virtual cross-section capabilities.
- Compliance with ASTM standards for grain size analysis is required.
- Installation, performance review, and training are mandatory components of the contract. Supplemental equipment must also be compatible with existing Keyence systems, including a low magnification lens (5-20x) and fiberscope with necessary mounting joints.

The solicitation for a Keyence VXH-X1 digital microscope system at Tinker AFB appears to have a confirmed incumbent and/or closely related prior contract history, including awards to Keyence Corporation of America for one Keyence digital microscope system and accessories (FA812624P0028, $181,785, 04/17/24–04/23/24). A closely related prior effort also includes on-site installation and training at Tinker AFB for a digital microscope (FA812626P0015, $77,875, 03/05/26–05/05/26). These prior awards appear similar in that they involve delivery of Keyence/digital microscope equipment along with installation and training components at the same location, consistent with a continuation of microscope procurement and deployment.
