Background
The contract is awarded to Symetrics Industries, LLC, doing business as Extant Aerospace, for a one-time buy of the Signal Data Converter (NSN: 5895-01-567-7326; PN: 8010000806-4). This procurement is essential to support the mission requirements of the FMS F-16 aircraft. The agency's minimum needs can only be satisfied by the unique supplies available from Extant or their agreement with Integrated Procurement Technologies.

Extant acquired the technical data rights for the CARA system from NavCom Defense Electronics, Inc., the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), in October 2018. The last buy was a sole source to NavCom under contract SPRWA112D0004.
