Justification and Approval (J&A)

The LLDR is a crew-served, man-portable, modular target locator and laser designation system that provides the user with the capability to recognize targets in day, night, and obscurant conditions, range to the target and calculate grid coordinates, and provide this information to other members on the Digital Battlefield. The three versions of the LLDR are the AN/PED-1 (LLDR I), AN/PED-1A (LLDR II), and AN/PED-1B (LLDR IIH). The primary components of the LLDR I are the TLM and the Laser Designator Module (LDM). (Please note, the LDM is not included in this NMC). The primary components of the LLDR II are the TLM II and DLDM. The primary components of the LLDR IIH are the TLM IIH and DLDM.
