Joint Base San Antonio-Upgrade Critical Medical Facilities

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Fort Worth District is seeking experienced firms to construct solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation systems at Brook Army Medical Center (BAMC) and Camp Bullis Taylor Burk Medical Clinic located at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.

This project aims to supplement the current power load at these medical facilities, which are critical to the Army's mission of providing healthcare services.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the design, installation, and commissioning of solar PV systems located in the parking lots of BAMC and Camp Bullis Taylor Burk Medical Clinic.

The design-build team will need to create an optimal layout for the PV array while adhering to all current and applicable codes. Additional tasks involve mechanical and electrical work necessary for upgrading motors, drives, transformers, and associated equipment.

The main hospital at BAMC consists of the original main building (BAMC) and a Consolidated Tower addition (COTO), served by two Central Energy Plants (CEP-1 for BAMC and CEP-2 for COTO). The project also includes installing a carport PV array over the parking lot in front of the Taylor Burk Medical Clinic.
