Background
The US Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District (USACE-NAB) and the Washington Aqueduct require construction services for the replacement of port gate valves and insulation at Jennings Randolph Lake intake tower. This project is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside, with a magnitude of construction estimated between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.

The Jennings Randolph Lake is a multi-purpose facility that includes a dam, reservoir, and recreational facilities located on the North Branch of the Potomac River in Mineral County, West Virginia and Garrett County, Maryland.

Work Details
The project involves two main features of work:
1. Valve Replacement: The contractor will replace ten (10) six-foot diameter port butterfly valves located within piping in-line with the port openings at five different tower elevations. The existing valves' watertight seals are worn due to age and debris damage, necessitating full replacement.

2. Insulation Replacement: The contractor will remove existing fiberglass insulation from ventilation ductwork that supplies outside air to the water release gates and replace it with new cellular glass insulation and jacketing. This work aims to improve the safety, functionality, and reliability of the JRL butterfly valves and insulation.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days after receiving the award and complete it within 730 calendar days.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at Jennings Randolph Lake intake tower located in Mineral County, West Virginia.
