Background
The Embassy of the United States in Reykjavik, Iceland is seeking vendors to provide janitorial services as outlined in the Performance Work Statement. This contract aims to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the embassy's facilities, supporting the mission of the U.S. government abroad. The contract will be a firm fixed price for one year, with two additional one-year options available, contingent upon funding availability.

Work Details
The contractor will perform janitorial services across all designated areas within the embassy, including halls, offices, restrooms, work areas, entrance ways, lobbies, elevators, and stairways. Key responsibilities include:

1. **Bi-Weekly Cleaning Requirements:**
- Sweeping and damp mopping of floors to remove dust and debris.
- Vacuuming rugs and carpets to maintain cleanliness.
- Thorough cleaning of toilets and bathrooms with appropriate disinfectants.
- Cleaning glasses and coffee services in conference facilities.

2. **Weekly Cleaning Requirements:**
- Dusting and cleaning all furniture and office equipment.
- Emptying wastepaper baskets and maintaining cleanliness.
- Removing grease marks from walls and surfaces.

3. **Monthly Cleaning Requirements:**
- Polishing metallic surfaces such as door handles and plaques.

4. **General Instructions:** The contractor must prepare instructions for the workforce within 30 days post-award for approval by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). Security protocols must be adhered to when accessing certain areas.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed by the Contracting Officer, with an initial performance period of 12 months followed by two optional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Embassy of the United States located in Reykjavik, Iceland.
