James River Reserve Fleet (JRRF) Tug TD-209 Dry Docking

Background
The Maritime Administration (MARAD) is conducting market research to identify parties interested in and capable of supporting the dry docking and repairs of the James River Reserve Fleet (JRRF) TD-290 Tug Boat. The craft will be delivered to the contractor’s facility within three working days of notice to proceed. The applicable NAICS code for this procurement is 336611, and the requirement is subject to the availability of funds.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for furnishing necessary labor, material, and equipment to safely dock and undock TD-290 for cleaning, painting, examination, and repairs as required in the Statement of Work. The work items include providing services of a qualified Marine Chemist, main and flanking rudder repairs, ultrasonic testing, plate renewal/repair, bearing replacement of propeller shafts, hull zincs replacement, external underwater hull cleaning/painting, and various other repairs as specified. Additionally, the contractor should be prepared to provide pricing for potential additional work required during the contract performance.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed at the contractor’s facility located within the Hampton Roads area, including the James River, all branches of the Elizabeth River, York River, Mobjack Bay, and tributaries.
