Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Cleaning & Janitorial Services   2

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Cleaning and Janitorial Services. The mission of the VA is to provide high-quality care to veterans, and this contract aims to support that mission by ensuring that medical equipment is properly cleaned and maintained. The goal of the contract is to provide a clean and safe environment for veterans receiving care at the Palo Alto Division.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing 12 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) employees to perform cleaning services for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) at the Palo Alto Division. Tasks include:
1. Daily DME cleaning in areas designated by VA Environmental Management Service (EMS) Supervisors.
2. Ensuring full attendance of staff and providing backup replacements as necessary.
3. Reporting attendance to EMS Supervisors at the beginning and end of each shift.
4. Completing weekly DME cleaning log sheets and submitting them to EMS Supervisors.
5. Performing housekeeping duties as assigned by EMS Supervisors after completing DME cleaning tasks.
6. Handling biohazardous waste according to VA guidelines, including proper collection, storage, and disposal procedures.
7. Complying with all relevant safety regulations, including OSHA standards, during all cleaning operations.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a Base Year from May 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027, with four additional option years extending through April 30, 2031.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Palo Alto Division located at 3801 Miranda Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94304-1207.
