Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, materials, parts, and special equipment necessary to perform the following tasks: testing, inspection, documentation, repairs, and emergency services for the medical gas systems of Buildings 221, 200, and 128. Specific requirements include:
1. Compliance with VHA Directive 7515 and other relevant standards such as NFPA-99 and OSHA.
2. Preparation of a safety plan prior to commencing work.
3. Conducting inspections on various medical gas systems including bulk oxygen, medical air compressors, vacuum systems, nitrous oxide manifold systems, nitrogen manifold systems, carbon dioxide manifold systems, etc.
4. Performing master and local alarm signal activation tests across multiple locations within the facility.
5. Testing approximately 2,286 medical gas outlets/inlets for pressure, flow, leakage, and labeling.
6. Conducting flexible connection leak tests in specified buildings.
7. Checking approximately 91 zone valves for leaks and proper labeling.
8. Verifying area warning alarms across buildings 200, 221, and 128.
9. Documenting all findings in an annual certification report that includes a deficiency list with recommendations for corrective actions.
