Description

Preventative Maintenance and repair of Medical Gas equipment.
Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a contractor to provide preventative maintenance and repair services for medical gas equipment at the Phoenix VA Healthcare System (PVAHCS). This contract aims to ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, which are critical for maintaining the safety and efficacy of medical services provided at the facility.

The PVAHCS is responsible for delivering healthcare services to veterans, and maintaining operational medical gas systems is essential for their mission.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Annual inspection, service, and repairs of Medical Air and Medical Vacuum equipment systems.
2. Provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, transportation, and supervision necessary for the inspections and repairs.
3. Technicians must have experience in preventative maintenance and repair of medical gas equipment, including holding certifications such as Medical Gas Maintenance and Repair 6040 Certification.
4. Knowledge of NFPA and NEC regulations is required.
5. Perform checks on all electrical components, service readings, grease motor bearings, test warning lights, change gear box oil, drain condensate in air receivers, check alarms for proper function, inspect pump couplings, check air filter elements, check dryer components for leaks, calibrate CO monitors, log operational data including running hours and pressure settings.
6. Provide notification one week prior to site visits and submit an electronic service inspection report within 10 working days after service completion.
7. Respond to emergency service requests within two hours and restore full performance within 24 hours.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a base period from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026 with options to extend for four additional years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Phoenix VA Healthcare System located at 650 East Indian School Road, Phoenix AZ 85012.
