In accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)/8.405-6(a)(2), this Notice of Intent is to inform all parties the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 19 located at 6162 South Willow Drive Suite 300, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 intends to award a sole source procurement for the following requirement to Thomas Scientific LLC., located at 7125 Northland Terrace N, Brooklyn Park MN 55428: ITEM # DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES QTY UNIT OF ISSUE CLINs See below VISN 19 proposes to enter into a firm-fixed price, base plus three option year contract for a preventative maintenance, calibration, and recertification service agreement for the listed Leica pathology and laboratory equipment located at the VA medical center (VAMC) in Salt Lake City. The calibration and repair of this equipment requires proprietary, specialized tools that are only available directly from the OEM. The OEM no longer services this equipment and Thomas Scientific is the officially approved vendor to provide this service. The OEM has provided a sole source letter stating they are the only authorized firm. The associated North America Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 811210 and the Business Size Standard is $22 Million. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 4:00 PM Mountain Standard Time, Thursday, October 31st, 2024. Information received in response to this notice must clearly demonstrate the capability of meeting the Government s need as stated above. Include any relevant information (specifications, cut sheets, brochures, capability statement, OEM authorization, etc.) confirming the ability to supply the products and/or any services outlined in this notice. Responses to this notice are to be sent to Edward.Emerson@va.gov. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government is not responsible for any potential costs incurred from interested parties desiring to respond to this notice.

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 19, located in Greenwood Village, CO, intends to award a sole source procurement to Thomas Scientific LLC for preventative maintenance, calibration, and recertification services for Leica pathology and laboratory equipment at the VA medical center in Salt Lake City.

The OEM has indicated that they no longer service this equipment, and Thomas Scientific is the only authorized vendor to provide these services as per the sole source letter from the OEM.

Work Details
