NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Procurement Office East (RPOE), Network Contracting Office 4 (NCO 4) intends to award a sole source contract with Sun Nuclear, 3275 Suntree BLVD, Melbourne, Florida 32940-7514. VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System has a new requirement for full service and maintenance for government owned Sun Nuclear Sun Check systems. The facility is located at: University Drive Campus, 4100 Allequippa St, Pittsburgh, PA 15240. These units are critical for continuous patient care of the Radiation Oncology at the VA Pittsburgh Medical Center. Sun Nuclear Corporation owns the proprietary copyrights and is the sole source provider of Sun Nuclear software and the products it manufactures. Sun Nuclear Corporation is the only company that can provide repairs, software license renewal, phone and web-based support, service loaners, and regular updates to the Sun Nuclear products, The period of performance will include a base period of one-year and four one-year option periods. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES; however, any responsible firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification and capability statements prior to the response due date and time. Vendors shall indicate if they are the direct supplier of the items. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to fulfil the requirements and must include relevant corporate experience along with the applicable contract number, total contract dollar amount, contract period of performance, details of the relevant services and customer point of contact with corresponding telephone number and email address. Responses must include following information: 1. Company Name 2. SAM UEI number 3. Company s address 4. Point of Contact information (title, phone number and email address) 5. Business size/Socioeconomic status Response received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information provided will not be returned. Responses are due by Monday, December 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM (EST). No submissions will be accepted after this date and time. Responses shall be submitted via email to arlene.albrite@va.gov. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 811210 and the standard size is $34M.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide full service and maintenance for government-owned Sun Nuclear Sun Check systems, including:
- Preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance repairs to ensure continuous reliability.
- Service for specific equipment including SUNSCAN 3D BNC, SUNSCAN RESERVOIR, SRS MapCHECK, and others as listed.
- 24/7 technical telephone support and emergency on-site services as authorized by the Point of Contact (POC).
- Documentation of all services performed, including equipment downtime and detailed descriptions of maintenance procedures.
- All parts supplied must be OEM and compatible with existing equipment; no refurbished parts are allowed.
- Software updates must be provided within one month of release from the OEM.
- Compliance with NFPA-99, JC, NEC, OSHA, HIPAA, Federal and VA security specifications.

The period of performance includes a base year from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026, followed by four one-year option periods extending through December 31, 2030.
