Carl Zeiss Artevo SMA Sole Source Announcement

DESCRIPTION: NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 17, intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed-Price Contract to PROAIM Americas, LLC. For the preventive maintenance of the Zeiss Artevo 850. The Contractor will provide Semi-Annual scheduled maintenance and emergency repair service for the equipment. This equipment is located at the VA Valley Coastal Bend, Harlingen Healthcare Center (HCC), located at 2601 Veterans Drive, Harlingen, Texas 78550. Only Carl Zeiss Meditec USA Inc. employed certified field service engineers are approved to perform service repair services on Zeiss products/ equipment. Carl Zeiss Meditec USA Inc. does not authorize any other entity to perform repairs or service on these products. Only PROAIM representing Carl Zeiss Meditec USA Inc. is authorize to represent Zeiss related to Zeiss OPTIME Service Contracts, and or ON-SITE Repair for Zeiss Products. Zeiss will not accept PO s from other entities for service and or repair labor other than PROAIM. This is due to the PROAIM s integration and knowledge with Zeiss Field Service Tech Support entities. This includes personnel and procedures of Zeiss tech support and Field Service teams providing efficiency to the end user customer of the Federal Government. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.5. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability in response to this notice. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 811210 with a small business size standard of $34 million. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. Responsible sources may identify their interest by submitting capability information by 10:00 A.M., CT, December 12, 2025, in order to establish the ability of the source to meet this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this notification.
