Notice of intent to sole source: The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veteran Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 7 (NCO7), intends to negotiate a sole source Firm Fixed Price contract for maintenance and support services for the Medronic Stealthstation S7 system, Medtronic Stealthstation S8 System SSA: MX 2472977, Model Stealthstation S8, Medronic Stealthstation S8 Main Cart, Asset: MX2472916, SN: N30475338, located at the Birmingham VA Medical Center located at 700 19th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35233. Medtronics is the manufacturer and sole distributor of the Stealthstation surgical system, including the associated hardware components, applicable licensed software applications and surgical instrumentation. These systems and instruments are complex medical devices subject to regulation by the Food and Drug Administration. As such Medronics does not authorize the repair or service of these Medronics products by customers or third parties, including the loading and reloading of software and does not authorize any customers or third parties to perform service or repair. Medronics cannot guarantee the proper performance or results of its system if unauthorized service, repair or modification to these Medrtonic products and any unauthorized service, repair or modification will void existing warranties and service agreements. In accordance with 41 U.S.C. A 3304(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source. Applicable NAICS: 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. This is not a request for competitive offers and no solicitation is available. Dur to the continuation of need it has been determined that these services are only available from a single source without an unacceptable delay or duplication of cost ant no other type or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to award the contract on or around April 18, 2022. This synopsis announcement is being issued for information purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or request for competitive proposals.
