Background
The Manchester VA Medical Center (VAMC), part of the VA New England Healthcare System, is seeking a contractor to provide testing and inspection services for various fire protection systems.

The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and other applicable standards, thereby maintaining safety and operational readiness within the facility.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and transportation necessary to perform the following tasks:
1. Quarterly test and inspect all water-based fire protection systems, including:
- Fire alarm initiating devices and associated equipment per NFPA-72-2019 and NFPA-25-2020.
- Fire sprinkler system main drains for all risers.
- Fire sprinkler system fire department connections.
- Antifreeze systems annually.
- Flow test fire hydrants annually.
2. Annual inspection, maintenance, repair, and recharge of portable fire extinguishers and fixed range systems in compliance with NFPA standards.
3. Conduct inspections for kitchen hood suppression systems and HazMat shed suppression systems according to NFPA 17, 17A, and 96.
4. Perform annual inspection and testing of the campus fire alarm system, including testing of initiating devices, occupant notification devices, smoke detection shutdown devices, manual emergency stops, and elevator recall systems.
