Ice Machine Service Contract   2

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the VA Boston Healthcare System, is seeking a contractor to provide cleaning and sanitation services for ice machines across three facilities: Brockton Division, Jamaica Plain Division, and West Roxbury Division. The goal of this contract is to ensure that all ice machines are maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications to promote health and safety standards within the healthcare environment.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform the following tasks:

1. Conduct two semi-annual site visits (approximately six months apart) to clean and sanitize a total of 75 ice machines across the three facilities.

2. Follow manufacturer cleaning procedures which include:
- Internal cleaning and sanitizing of ice machines.
- Wiping down external surfaces, cleaning drip trays, flushing drain lines, and cleaning water dispensing nozzles.
- Vacuuming/washing air filters.
- Replacing water filters (filters will be provided by the VA).

3. For each machine serviced, provide a certificate and written report with photographs documenting before and after conditions to validate the cleaning process.

4. Final inspections of all machines will be conducted by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) at each location.

Period of Performance
One base year plus four option years.
