Boiler Safety Device Testing for VA Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This is a solicitation conducted using FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures). This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotes are being requested. There are four (4) one-year option periods available at the government s discretion. Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for Boiler Safety Device Testing for the Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System. The mission of the VA is to provide high-quality care to veterans, and this contract aims to ensure the safety and reliability of boiler operations at their medical facilities. Work Details
The contractor will provide all materials, labor, transportation, and services necessary for the inspection, testing, and calibration of boiler plant burners, controls, and instruments. Specific tasks include:

1. Conducting inspections, tuning, testing, calibrating, and adjustments of burners and boiler controls every six months.

2. Ensuring compliance with NFPA 85 Boiler and Combustion Systems Hazards Code and VHA Boiler Plant Safety Device Testing Manual.

3. Technicians must have qualifications including a minimum of one year of trade school education and five years of experience in institutional or industrial boiler plants.

4. Technicians must be equipped with portable electronic flue gas analyzers and other necessary test instruments.

5. Work must be scheduled with at least two weeks' notice to the VA Representative and cannot occur during heavy steam load periods.
