Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for the Replacement of Boiler Blowdown/Blowoff Tank at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center (RHJ VAMC) in Charleston, SC. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility's central energy plant by replacing an outdated blowoff tank, which is critical for managing boiler blowoff water safely.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all supervision, labor, equipment, and materials necessary to replace the blowoff tank in the central energy plant at RHJ VAMC. The scope of work includes:

1. Removal of the old blowoff tank and associated piping;
2. Preparing the installation area for the new blowoff tank;
3. Installing new piping to integrate with the existing system;
4. Following manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices during installation;
5. Connecting the new pump to the existing motor and system, followed by testing for proper functionality;
6. Minimizing disruption to hospital operations during construction;
7. Ensuring all personnel conduct themselves professionally while on site;
8. Complying with infection control and safety requirements, including obtaining necessary permits for confined spaces or infection control risks;
9. Attending a mandatory site visit within ten days of award date to understand logistics;
10. Submitting a project schedule within 14 calendar days of Notice to Proceed (NTP).

Period of Performance
The period of performance is set for 45 calendar days from Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center located at 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
