Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this contract to conduct a Boiler Useful Life Study at the Danville VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Illinois. This study is critical for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of steam supply systems that support essential healthcare services, including sterilization, domestic hot water, and building heating/air conditioning.

The goal of this contract is to evaluate the life expectancy and reliability of the boilers and associated equipment in accordance with VHA Directive 1810, which mandates engineering evaluations for equipment retention beyond its useful life expectancy.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform an engineering evaluation of the following equipment:
1) Bldg. 211 Boiler #4 Cleaver Brooks Package boiler – 4WG200 -150HP (Manufacture date: 2012);
2) Bldg. 214 Boiler #1 Cleaver Brooks Package boiler – 4WG200 -100HP (Manufacture date: 2012);
3) Bldg. 216 Boiler #1 Cleaver Brooks Package boiler – 4WG200 -100HP (Manufacture date: 2012);
4) Feed water tanks located in buildings 211, 212, 214, and 216.

The contractor must supply all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for inspection and testing. A full report of findings and recommendations must be documented and stamped by a licensed professional engineer. Inspections must be supervised by a Qualified Professional Inspector with appropriate credentials, including certifications from relevant authorities such as the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors or equivalent state qualifications. Non-destructive testing personnel must be certified to ASNT Level II standards.

The contract will be performed at the Danville VA Medical Center located at 1900 E Main St, Danville, IL.
